Arrival in Santiago

First impressions of Santiago – a sense of relief that there are less dogs than I imagined, yet they are everywhere. I have not seen any packs yet, mostly lone dogs ignored by people – there is almost no interaction; they are just there. Most seem well fed. Many hop laboriously on three legs, the fourth dangling uselessly. And surprisingly, several dogs are on leashes followed by caring owners. But on my first day, one dog brought home the reality – riddled with fleas and afflicted with mange, a starved puppy circled me nervously, his mind distracted for seconds from itching that must lead to madness.

Go Girl, you are justice with every being of your soul. Much love. My heart is with you. I imagined last night watching the Oscars, that you are on stage accepting the award
